G’s Hard Ginger Beer – Summer Vibes

Gluten Free Ginger Beer

This marks the third review for G’s Hard Ginger Beer. Today’s pour is for their Summer Vibes flavor which is brewed with passionfruit, orange, and sea salt. I recently released reviews for their Original and Stormy flavor as well, which you can find links for at the end of this review.

G's Hard Ginger Beer

This gluten free ginger beer is organic, gluten free, vegan, and has only 116 calories per 16 ounce can. The Summer Vibes Ginger Beer has a 4.5% ABV and if it’s anything like the rest of the G’s Ginger Beer lineup, I expect it to be wonderfully dry!

Here is the pour video for the Summer Vibes Ginger Beer. I still have two more flavors to try, including Gold Rush (lemon, cinnamon, vanilla, and heather flowers) and Zin-Babe (with zinfandel grapes). Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for those as well!

The Taste Test

Summer Vibes Ginger Beer

The Summer Vibes Ginger Beer pours with a rapidly spent head and a color so light that it looks like clear seltzer when held up to the light. When in front of you, it takes a hue of sparkling white wine. Carbonation appears to be strong, a quality easy to notice because of this gluten free ginger beer’s clarity.

It smells of ginger and citrus, but it’s heaviest on the ginger. The firs taste is almost surprising to me. It’s SO light and so mild in mouthfeel and flavor. Even the ginger is light on the palate (at least at first, but I’d be willing to bet it builds as I make my way through the beverage.

The carbonation comes off lighter in the mouthfeel than it appears in its visual presentation. Upon first sip, you first notice a sharp, crisp, clean quality. This is also when the texture imparted from the carbonation is strongest. It’s mostly intense mouthfeel at the start, with an extremely light body. Zero sweetness.

Then the flavor gets…super clear I suppose…kind of a strange word to describe a flavor, but that’s the word that comes to mind. It reminds me of a BDK Kombucha called Clear Mind. It tastes just like that! There’s a little bit of gentle ginger noticed at the back of the palate.

I’ll also add that I am most the way through this review now and I continue to assess the ginger flavor and heat at the lower end of G’s spectrum so far. (I’ve only had 3 of the 5 I have on hand, but so far this has been the most mild ginger-wise.)

G's Hard Ginger Beer Summer Vibes

This Summer Vibes Ginger Beer is so crisp and clean that I completely see why it’s marketed as a summer flavor. It would be thirst quenching (dangerous really!) on a hot summer day. It also reminds me a bit of a light-bodied, mineraly, effervescent wine…like a Vermentino.

It also has a nice light 4.5% ABV so the 16 ounces won’t add up too fast. Overall, I continue to enjoy the gluten free ginger beers put out by G’s Hard Ginger Beer. Not a single one has been sweet. (Hallelujah!)

I’ve got two more flavors left to review: the Zin-Babe and the Gold Rush. Zin-Babe is made with (you guessed it) zinfandel grapes! And the Gold Rush features lemon, cinnamon, vanilla, and heather flowers.
