G’s Hard Ginger Beer — Gold Rush

Ginger Beer Brewed With Lemon, Cinnamon, Vanilla, and Heather Flowers

I’m so sad to report that this is my last flavor of G’s Hard Ginger Beer left to review! I have released 4 or so reviews for them over recent months (which you can find links to at the end of this one) and I saved the most interesting for last. 

Today I’m pouring the G’s Gold Rush Ginger Beer, which is brewed with lemon, cinnamon, vanilla, and Heather flowers. It has 129 calories per 16 ounce can, is gluten free, vegan, organic, and is brewed with no added sugars or artificial sweeteners.

Every single gluten free ginger beer I’ve tried from G’s so far has been dry AF. Which I appreciate SO much. I’m expecting this one to fall in line with the others on the dryness scale, but I’ll have to get on to the taste to find out!

The Taste Test

G’s Gold Rush Ginger Beer

The Gold Rush Ginger Beer pours with a crystal clear cream color and a head that bubbles away faster than I can photograph, but you can catch it in the video above. Its aroma consists mostly of ginger and orange. The carbonation comes off very strong at first but once the initial pour is complete, it actually looks fairly moderate.

My first taste of this gluten free ginger beer reveals a flavor that mirrors the aroma quite a bit. The most pronounced flavors are ginger and lemon, and they pair beautifully with the herbal notes from the anise and the warmth of the cinnamon. 

When the Gold Rush hits your lips, you first notice the carbonation, which offers a quick and tender crispness that fades into flavor shortly after. Citrus and ginger bathe the tongue as it moves to the back of the palate where you appreciate the subtle spiciness and floral softness imparted from the additions. 

The Heather flowers create a smoothness that balances the crispness from the carbonation, and the bite of the ginger. In all honesty, this may be one of my favorite G’s Hard Ginger Beer flavors yet! I honestly didn’t expect that.

I find that the citrus fruitiness perfectly compliments the herbal influence form the ginger and spices. This gluten free ginger beer has the perfect amount of kick, bite, and bubble. It’s dry like the others in G’s lineup, but somehow I think this one packs the most flavor. What a treat that I saved it for last!

Now that I’ve successfully reviewed all the G’s Ginger Beers that I could get my hands on, I can safely say that this is my favorite gluten free ginger beer brand to date. Don’t miss out on their other creative flavors, including the:
